Looking to get some kind of tracker for tractor/machinery.

Too many 'lads in vans' around here lately.[Bale handlers & mowers are flavour of the month]

Rang connaught agri about their one. It seems simple enough to set up.

You use Google map/earth to locate tracker. No monthly fee, just price of the text message it sends you.

The price is 180 + vat delivered.

Has anybody used the tracker from connaught agri?

    What about other trackers?

The thing about these trackers is you can buy a blocker to stop the text.
For about 20 euro so they plug it into the tractor take to a place they can strip it and dump it.Buy a good dog and a good locking system for your gate alot cheaper and you will have an other friend.

I was at Cork Summer Show and there was more security stands than ice cream vans. Everything from etching to microdots, trackers to smartphone monitoring for sale. As said already its hard to beat strong gates and doors. The salesmen were doing their best to put the fear of god in you

bord na mona had tractors robbed last weekend- thieves stole 3john deeres and a new holland-but the new holland was recovered 10miles away when the anti theft device automatically shut the tractor down when it went out of base range

    Hi,

I might be a bit late but im working in a Company where we design stuff like GPS trackers.
I would suggest you to call either Celtrak or Bluetree. I could also get one for €170 + € 120 labour (then u have license for it and can move it to another machine if u need to) . The device would tell you where the machine is was it speeding etc. also u can set up an area for it and if the machine moves outside the border u get a phone or txt.

Simple low cost option available from Sparex through any tractor dealer.

The device on the picture cost over £470,- plus installation cost.

on of Sparex distributors in Ballinasloe ;)) ..

Cant think why a tractor dealer / garage in Ballinasloe would quote you £470 (UK Stg) plus installation -- unless that is, your are wrong and he was a ''trader at the horse fair'' ??

Better off to stick with local garages - that way it will be euro price.

I fitted one of these trackers to a JCB for my Brother in Law and he didn't pay anything like that price in euro.
I am not a 'techy guy' but we could fit this no problem - you wouldn't need a degree to install it as its pretty simple. :D

i baught a tracker from a reliable company based in meath who installed it, and when they were short of a tracker they went to where mine was and removed it and sold it to someone else without me knowing about it, cost €800 so beware out there

    That's definitely the full story.
