Astra Problem

    My OH drives a 08 Astra 1.3 Diesel Sxi. It currently has 151,000 km on the clock. Lately it has started to run very poorly at idle, throws out a lot of black smoke at start up and take off (occasionally stalling) and has absolutely zero power at low revs. Its only when the revs get to about 1600 rpm and the turbo kicks in that it has any power. It has its oil and filter done on a regular basis, every 15,000 km and bar blowing a valve in the turbo at about 100,000 km has given little trouble. It was in the garage about 3 weeks ago for brake pads and a new alternator belt but they did not seem to notice any problem. Bit surprising as I thought that they would be hungry for any work that they could get, and this is a problem they would not have to invent…..

    Any thoughts?

    Clean the MAF, throttle body and pour a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank the next 2-3 fill ups.
    It could be more serious or it could be something small.
