Why don't the good faction in the so-called "Anonymous" computer hackers conglomerate go after these e-thugs.

!nstead it showed some sympathy for the company on its Twitter feed.

"We want to help you destroy the hackers that attacked you. We love the Dreamcast, these people are going down," it said.

^ they are on it! ;)

Guys, you shouldn't be using the same password in any 2 places, each site needs to be unique. then you'll have little to worry about. There are a few ways of doing this.

1, Lastpass addon for your browser, it memorises your passwords and logs you in. It will offer to generate a unique random password on new sites.

1, Here's an easy way to have a random password for every site and remember it. You need a strong secure one, something random like "GnI1eZfS" which you memorise (or write down till you have it memorised). Then for every site you visit you add the first two consonants, then first two vowels, so your password for Amazon becomes "GnI1eZfSmzaa", for Boards becomes "GnI1eZfSbroa", Google becomes "GnI1eZfSggoo" and so on. Find your own method for what's easiest for you.

I use a combination of both, most are random from Lastpass, but the places I need to remember them for, emails, gmails, boards etc I use the method above. You should make it an annual thing to change passwords on all sites, 3-6 monthly for emails

I also avoid using a credit card online, I try opt for PayPal. For transactions I can't use Paypal I have 3v.

Also, I never give my real date of birth on any web form.

Oh no, a group of teenagers with attitude. They aren't the power rangers or anything they just know how to get into unsecured/poorly secured systems. They're basically catching all these companies with their junk in the breeze. Good for them I say.

No, the measures were taken as a precautionary measure when they noticed slightly abnormal traffic (I have the email), but anyway its still completely encrypted and no good to them if you don't use the same password elsewhere
    Dear LastPass User,

On May 3rd, we discovered suspicious network activity on the LastPass internal network. After investigating, we determined that it was possible that a limited amount of data was accessed. All LastPass accounts were quickly locked down, preventing access from unknown locations. We then announced our findings and course of action on our blog and spoke with the media.

As you know, LastPass does not have access to your master password or your confidential data. To further secure your account, LastPass now requires you to verify your identity when logging in. You will be prompted to validate your email if you try to log in from a new location. This prompt will continue to appear until you change your master password or indicate that you are comfortable with the strength of your master password.

Please visit https://lastpass.com/status for more information.

    Thanks,
    The LastPass Team

Just proof that no site is secure, its up to the user to ensure they're safe

They actually do quite a lot.

    Shogun 2 recently for example.
