Help!! Armpit fat in dress!!

I bought this dress http://www.asos.com/Karen-Millen/Karen-Millen-Ombre-Dot-Print-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1080255 to wear to a wedding in two weeks time, but I've got horrible pouches of armpit fat sticking out on each side under the cap sleeve. The dress seems to fit pretty ok, and I've never had this problem before. I've spent the last month doing toning exercises in an attempt to get rid of them but its not working. If I hold my arms in certain ways you cant see it but I cant spend the day doing that. I don't really have the time or money to find another dress, so I'm trying to find some/any solution short of liposuction!! I've tried using tape to stick em down (gross) but then the tape is visible. Is there any magic bra that will hide this, or would it maybe be possible to get the top of the dress altered in some way? I could handle a bra showing underneath better than these chunks of flab :(

Have you thought about going to a dressmaker or even wearing a little bolero? It might be tricky to get one that matches your dress though.
    Good luck.

    Lovely dress, OP! :)

You could try wearing a shawl over it? It would still keep it classy without hiding the dress, but yet keep covered the bits you want to conceal.

I second the dressmaker idea - maybe they could let out the material where it's cutting in?

Frist of all what a fantastic dress. I love it.

Now the bit I am sure you don't want to hear. I am sure you dont have fat armpits in the dress. I bet you you asked any of your friends you would be told you don't. I bet its just the sleeves of the dress. If you really fee you have not got a smooth line around the arms, try a bra with deep sides the will hld you in. One that goes close up to your armbits and has boning in the side.

Take the dress into some place like BTs ot Arrnotts and ask for advice. I am sure you will get sorted out.

You could add a wrap if you wanted but such a lovely dress.

You could definitely try a full-cup bra with high sides, this fantasie one looks like it is very structured in the side

I've had problems with weird sleeves on Karen Millen tho, last dress I got I couldn't lift my arms in it. A dressmaker should be able to make minor adjustments in the armpit so that the armhole is a little bigger, that should prevent the 'bunching' of your flesh I think. It sounds like it's just catching you in exactly the wrong spot.

Thanks so much for all your replies! I'm taking all of your advice, brought it to a dressmaker, he says its just because its tight fitting and the armholes are big and cut in to the front in a sort of V. He's going to put in lycra panel's to cover the wide open area under the arms. Unfortunately he says he can only put in black ones which i'm a bit annoyed about , I think it might look odd. Prob better than the fat bits bulging out tho! Also on a mission to find a high fitting bra and a shawl.
The moral of the story for me is dont buy dresses online imagining that somehow they'll make me look like the model in the picture!!
Now all i need to do is find shoes. Fashion is such hard work!

I've always found Karen Millen to be tight-fitting across the top of the chest area. It just seems to be the way that they are cut. However, well done on finding the dressmaker.

By the way, that is one beautiful dress. Enjoy the day out.
