$25,000 investment

    The mother in law got $25,000 left to her by her brother.As the Euro Dollar is in the toilet at the moment everyone told her hold it in dollars.
    Most banks will do a foreign currency account but the intrest rate is non existent.Does any one have any experience investing this type of amount for a 2+ year period protecting it from inflation.

    The age old protection against inflation is Gold and Silver coins, bullion and mining shares.

    Inflation protected bonds may be an option, e.g. TIPS.

    Don't invest it in what is possibly a gold bubble.
