Yet another show where a well paid RTE celeb gets to live out their pleasures through public coffers.

Now John Creedon is showing us how he ate ice cream as a kid. Wonder how much it cost for this one? I notice some of it was shot from a helicopter.

Was it not enough to see Charlie Bird being mounted by seals or tubs confirming his regal blood???

Course it's all part of the RTE mutual appreciation society. I remember a few months back Tubs told us what a great artist thelma Mansfield is. Oh spare us please

I'm guessing he puts it up his bum, because all he ever uses his mouth for is talking shíte.

I remember reading on another thread that somebody's parents had been saving up for years for the trip of a lifetime... so they eventually make the trip and who's sitting across from them??? Joe Duffy filming his free RTE holiday for "No Frontiers".. It should have been called "No Fakkn Shame"..

Meh I have some difficultly getting worked up about a low budget trek around Ireland by an Irishman on Irish television. Its not as if someone had decided to enrol him in the USAF to be taught to fly SR-71s. That's the sort of thing BBC2 might do with James May.

They have to give the public what they want.

I get the feeling that Creedon is a well-liked character (I would not describe him as a celeb myself) and viewing public tend to like to see known people do things on TV.

Somehow I think a show about John Creedon travelling around Ireland would get more viewers than a show about me or some other non-entity reliving my old family hols.

TG4 had a similar and better (and almost certainly cheaper) series a few years ago called Mo Laethanta Saoire.

I'm sure that the Irish public would have been served by buying another American ****com, rather than trying to produce Irish shows with Irish "talent".

I find most these shows horrible. It wouldn't be too bad if they had real characters doing the travelling but it always seems to be whoever's free at RTE and just comes off as a bland, uninspiring, done to death watch me get a free holiday, show.

I'm surprised they remember to bring the camera with them.

I think Creedons show is ok. Well not the worst anyway. Bird's junket is a different story altogether.

Wasn't that Joe on the Orient Express to Prague? Seem to remember him dressed in a brand new tuxedo, most likely charged to the taxpayer and now hanging up in the Duffy wardrobe.

sure, sure, sure.. well done... I just looked at my post and I forgot to mention, of course, that it was the Orient Express... It's only now that I'm drunk that I recognise my mistake...

Diarmuid Gavins award winning Garden in the sky is costing the tax payer €2.1m now that is a waste of our money.

This was excellent and no doubt done with a fraction of the funding as well as being less over-stylised.

Also I can't stand John Creedon, he seems to be on everything lately. He was on the TV a couple of times last week as well as the radio with his silly lingo thinking he's hilarious. He's truly awful.

Maybe some more of them will follow Gerry Ryan and take their fantasies to their natural conclusions.
