Worried about misunderstanding

In Irish HL paper two there was the question on Gealt "What inspired the events of this poem?" which I answered by bsing about it being a poem which although humorous, should be used to draw our attention to a greater social issue.
It only occurred to me today, what if didn't mean what I thought it did which was "what inspired the poet to write about the events that happened?" rather than "What (Within The Poem) inspired the events in the poem?"

What do you think? Would I just be marked wrong for my whole answer, I'm practically fluent, so at least my irish should have been grand.
    Failed to load the poll.
