Discovery HD UPC problem

    I'm just wondering if anyone else is having problems with Discovery HD losing sound every so often. It seems to be the only HD channel doing it.

    When it happens I can change channel up to history HD and the sound is fine but go back to Discovery HD and its not. Also if I got to Discovery SD the sound is there for the part its missing on the HD channel

    I cant see it being a box issue if its the only channel that's affected.

    So just interested to know if anyone else is having the same problem?

    Yep, noticed this happened a couple of times when I was watching 'Flying Wild Alaska' on Thursday night. Flicked over to the SD version and it was fine and the sound returned about a minute later on the HD channel. Must just be a channel issue.

    I also noticed that sometimes there are audio-sync issues with Discovery HD. Nothing major but the sound sometimes drops just ever so slightly out of sync with the pictures (particularly noticeable when people are talking directly to camera). However, it usually resolves itself often within a few seconds of it happening. Has anyone else noticed that?

    Yeah, I've experienced the same issues with Discovery HD...anyone ever contacted UPC about it ? .... the problem rightly pissed me off watching 'Flying Wild Alaska'

    Well now that I know it aint me I might give them a ring tomorrow and see with they say.

    Yes, I have this same problem too (am in Dublin 14). It's been happening for the past 2(?) weeks or so. I thought it was just me and didn't feel like battling with UPC to resolve it - hoping against hope that it would sort itself out soon soon. Good luck, Stokolan.
