Such an obvious thread but IMO the greatest sports person in history!

Please post your favourite MJ videos here:

Forget your Kobe's, Lebron's and the rest. Jordan was the man and will never be beat!

The thing I really did like about MJ was not just his talent but the fact that he was born with insane God-given abilities and milked every last ounce out of them. I have tremendous respect for people who do that in or out of sports. He was also as competitive as they come, and wanted to rip his opponent's hearts out

    Anyway.

One thing i loved about him was the confidence he had in his abilities and how he was so calm in such pressured situations. Not to mention the confidence his teammates and coaching staff had in him. He could get the ball a half court with 7 seconds left and he won't take his shot until he's in his comfort zone. Even if that meant playing to 0.3 seconds.

Dude was just all round talent. Here is showing his skills off the court.

^^ Just watching that video reminded me of how good he was in transition. He was pretty much like LeBron in that sense. If he had a head of steam and there was only one guy back, that guy stood a ZERO chance of stopping him. Let him score and don't make it an And-1.

    Anyway..

Not specifically MJ, but I can't think of anywhere else to go posting it.

Go to around the 5 minute mark for Jordan's introduction as a Wizard player at the Bulls. 3 minute standing ovation.

My wife got me that dvd for x-mas last year,
shame it only comes in regon1, had to copy & burn it each disc as region free.

Great set, really worth buying, had the 3documntrys on Vhs back in the day

Scottie, it's surprisingly easy to "unlock" most DVD players, making them Region free. I only did it this past week myself for the first time, bought the boxset of the ESPN 30-for-30 series, didnt realise I'd got the wrong region. Asked the techy-genius cousin (everyone has one!) what to do and he pointed me in the right direction. Easy!

I think I just googled "making dvd player region free" or something. You'll be led to a site, you enter your dvd Make and Model and it tells u how to unlock it. Easy as 1-2-3.

I think I'll go on Amazon now n buy the above Jordan collection actually.

Just watched "Jordan Rides the Bus" this week, first one of the ESPN films I watched since I bought em. I really didn't know so much about Jordan's time playing baseball, was very interesting. He really is among the greatest athletes we've ever seen.

I'm not a bastketball fan per say but did enjoy watching the sport from time to time during the golden years of Jordan, Bird, Thomas etc

The word 'LEGEND' is banded about fairly loosely these days and annoyingly so, but this guy lives up to that word and then some.

Looking at those clips was hair stand up on back of neck stuff.

    Brilliant!

I'm a big Celtics fan and a huge Larry Bird fan but unlike my Boston buddies I realise that Jordan was in a different class to anybody including Larry. By far the greatest and most dominant player in any sport in history imo. He was so good individually that sometimes his great defending and teamwork were not realised fully. I think what shows best how awesome he was is how much the likes of Pippen fell in standard when he wasn't around.

My favourite basket ever is this one. I seen it live and I just was like 'wtf just happened?'

So many great characters going at it in the 80's - 90's era and then to witness the magic of MJ topped it off. Very hard to watch now in comparison. Over paid prima donnas, greedy executives, the game's littered with lame rules and awful fouls. Still good but not great like before

Really have to agree... there are some exceptions - Durrant, for example, not only has serious game but has a great attitude too. Nowitski the same and JKidd and Steve Nash are real throwbacks at PG, love watching them.

Exactly, great players with the old school mentality. I dont really have a fav team but to watch Dirk and Kidd in action last season was a pleasure, made even more so by Lebron and Wade disrespecting Dirk's illness with 2 games to go. Fatal error!

The rough and tumble and frankly, mentally unstable but extremely talented guys that played the game made it intriguing and exciting to watch. You were allowed to battle and trash talk unlike now. Karl Malone, Dennis Rodman, Barkley, Ewing and Jordan gave as good as anyone.

I know this is a Jordan thread but this is from the ESPN 30 for 30(Brilliant Series)

Reggie Miller v Spike Lee in the playoffs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDSF8otJH8Y

Totally agree... I loved watching Malone, Rodman, Ewing, Barkley as well as Jordan & Pippen (throw in Isiah Thomas and Bird too) going at it hammer and tongs - balls out basketball. Great stuff - the league just isn't as "raw" as that now and it's the poorer for it in my opinion.

I've mentioned the ESPN 30-for-30 series elsewhere on the B'ball forum and couldn't recommend it enough. I bought the boxset online and it's just some of the best TV you'll ever watch.
