I was in final year until recently. I have received a letter from the dublin city council library regarding 2 books that I had forgotten about and had left in my locker in college, my thesis was due in early May and once exams were up I hadn't bothered going to empty my locker until the deadline in July.. I am going in on Monday to get them and return them. With the stress of exams and submissions I completely forgot about them. I am bringing them back on Monday... The legal proceedings they said they would have no choice but to resort to, how long will these take? If I bring them back on Monday will this all be sorted?I'm panicking. i just got a bundle of mail and that and a bunch of reminders were in it... Can a letter from the doctor to say I'd been so stressed from college work will cut it? I'll pay the fines... Please any advice appreciated!!

I got a letter before saying if I didn't bring a book back they'd instigate legal proceedings. They're not really gonna do it over a book, it's just to get you to return it. I returned it. All good. I wouldn't give it any thought just bring it back asap.

Yes I agree, don't worry it's just to make sure you bring back the book as soon as possible.

Bring the books back, apologise. All will be well. They know you are a student, preoccupied and broke. It is just an incentive to return the books.
