best gadget for music display

I would like to store and display music for reading while on a gig.
I have a load of sheet music which I could scan.

I'm looking for the best solution to display these, basically put a screen on my music stand and read from it. (after strapping it in)

I saw a long while back some touchscreen PC's that work with a bespoke s/w that allows you to even alter the score onscreen. I don't need this , just the ability to create playlists and cycle through them.

I think there are cut down PC's you could use for this, but I'm out of the loop as far as technology goes. Was looking at an I-pad , but the screen maybe is a bit small. Also a remote way of turning the page would be nice. (foot pedal?)

    any ideas please . thanks
