Just heard them mentioning on Sky that this is the last ever Churchill cup. Can someone tell me why. Does that mean there won't be any more tournaments for A sides to compete in.

no churchill cup, England have always funded it but they don't want to anymore they want to bring a bigger squad on tour and play mid week matches instead of just test matches while on tour

It seems that USA and Canada will be playing more matches against top Test-playing nations

If ending it means that USA, Canada and Russia will play more top level teams it is probably the best option.

Only seems to mention the US and Canada. Any news on the Russians? Are they included this new schedule?

The RFU could claim it isn't fair cause they pay expenses for the whole tournament and have to play semi pro or amateur teams

To be honest I agree with your earlier point that the tournament is set up for USA and Canada to be beaten up in. That said they got two big things that they wanted from it. Exposure to stronger opposition and media exposure for their players to help them be picked up by professional clubs.

I'm just surprised the Canadians didn't tear Ottawa apart after their loss to the Saxons. :D
