How to stop crazy swing from returning

Playing off 19 after getting cut 5 shots and have been playing well most of the time but every now and then my swing speeds up and I knock shot after shot.

Had worst round this year this morning with only 21 points because for 15 holes I kept swinging too fast coming up off the ball and knocking it especially off the tee. Then I had a bogey on 16 and birdied 17th and had a tap in par on 18.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and being to find a way of stopping it happening?

Sorry, not too sure what you mean by "knocking it" Are you topping the ball/ hitting it thin?

Had this happen to me. Was hitting my irons really well so was getting confident in my swing. Only problem with that is that the more confident you get the faster you swing and like you, my body pops up slightly when I swing too fast. Was topping the ball all over the place and not even making 20 yards off some shots.
Only thing i that worked for me was to conciously think about my swing speed because I knew that once I got that right the contact would follow.

That's what is wrong with my swing. It's become good but I'm swinging too fast and trying to murder to the ball. Next round I'm going to make an effort to just take it down a bit.

your almost there on your own, just knowing you're too fast. amazing the number of people who cant tell the difference!
Any number of tips work for me for a while, until the thought process goes onto something else. However:
Most famous one: keep the feet together.
    elbows together.
    heel/toe balance.
basically its anything that keeps me thinking about the mechanics , not the result.:p

Try forcing yourself to pause at the top of your backswing.
When I worry about my speed I say pause in my head and wait that long before commencing downswing.
    Give it a try
