Offered two jobs- 'problem'

Ok I have been lucky enough to have been offered two jobs .

    Job 1
Family friend offered me a job, minimum wage, 9am-6pm 5 days a week. This is just for the summer and no chance of any work during college at the weekends. Working in a factory. Will be able to live at home.

    Job 2
Been offered a job in Dublin which will mean having to move and live with relations, same hours. It is in a telesales sort of company but I will be getting a basic wage and then commision on top of that if I beat my quota. The thing is I won't have much job security, from what I have heard if you don't hit your quota even in the first week or two you could be gone. If I last I will be able get weekend work during college which would be a huge help.

If there wasn't the chance at weekend work with job 2 I would almost definately go for job 1. The other thing is if I was to go for job 2, job 1 would more than likely go to my brother which would help my parents out not having to cover all his expenses in college.

    Thanks for any replies.

Unless you are one heck of a salesperson I'd take number 1; any cold selling is a pain and very difficult to do for most.

Job 2 - You may learn something from the job. You could make great money for all you know. Try and get in touch with someone in the company to find out more. If it isn't working out you can have another job in Dublin lined up to move straight in to.

Easier said than done to be honest as I have practically no experience. As it is I might be able to start in job 1 a week early so I might just give it a chance for a week at least.

Job 1 is probably the safer bet. Just wanted to show the advantages of the alternative. Good Luck whichever you choose.

    Don't take either!

Just relax for the summer. I take it you're living in the bog.

Job2 is telesales which sucks almost as bad as door2door or chugging. The only advantage to telesales is that you get to meet girls...that's it.

Job1 is via a family friend so the pressure is on not to fcuk up. One late morning with a hangover and your family friend isn't going to be too "friendly" anymore :pac::pac:.

(just kidding...factory job gets my vote. You get to stay home and save some loot and also you have the weekends off for the summer so you can go fishing, camping, drinking, whatever).

Haha no job is not an option, month finished college now and I'd nearly try prostitution at this point to get some work, only thing is I don't there'd be many women interested in paying for my services:pac:.
