I cancelled sky last month as i was moving house, and didnt know if i could get it in my new abode. when they deativated my card i lost access to my recordings, which was fine. now i've signed up again, as a new customer so i'm getting a new card (which arrived yesterday) and a new installation of a HD box (tuesday)

my old plus box is hooked up at my new house (but not to a dish) is there any way, either before or after installation that i can get at my recordings on my old box with my new card? If not, its no big deal, but it'd be nice...

A bloke in work gave me this link, I've never tried it, but he said it worked fine for him.

Cheers for the link, that may work, but i was thinking more along the lines of watching them then deleting them rather that lifting them off the drive itself, but its good to know that option is there..

You're out of luck trying to watch them as you cancelled the old account and now have no access to the recordings on the old box-the only option is use copy+ as stated above. It's a bit fiddly so try and watch the shows you have recorded online as another simpler option.
You can still wipe the hard drive in the old box even without a subscription.

Only for recordings of FTA content, or transferring to a disk used in Sky box with valid card.

True, the op now has a new Sky setup at his new address so transferring all recordings would work but it'll involve opening up his new sky+ box to get at the hard drive and will more than likely void the warranty on it.His call I suppose as tho whether it's worth the risk.
