Most impressive ride of the night was Damien Shaw IMO. By now most of expect Irvine to do his best derny impression and simply burn people off his wheel so seeing Shaw able to hang on to him and then trade time on the front pretty equitably was awesome. The pair of them along with O'Sullivan eliminated nearly the entire field. Pure power an guts. Seeing Shaw ride at that level makes me feel a lot better about the schooling he gave us in Kanturk. I think he did the same in Donegal too.

Glen Kinning was with them for a good while but must have lost the wheel somewhere as he got gapped but held on for fourth by riding HARD on his own between the remaining groups. That did not look like fun.

The ladies race was cool too. Great to see swords/boards among the very best in the country.

Why does Ldb not get her full name posted like all the others?

I finished on my own, somewhere in the middle. It was hard.

There were a million people and their big F-off cameras taking pics. Where are the photos?

In case she didn't want anyone to know her boards id

Great to watch last night, brilliant race by Damien Shaw, stuck with Irvine the whole way round and thoroughly deserved his 2nd place.

Just to add, I know many of us know each other personally in the cycling forum, but it is a general rule of boards that anonymity is respected. Hence linking individuals by both boards ID and their real name should not be done (unless the person in question has expressly agreed to it). I realise someone can check publicly available information for races like this, but they at least then have to go to some trouble.

This general rule also avoids people being identified casually when there is no easy way to cross check actual names

Well done Caroline! Crits are tough. Did you ride the crit around Temple Bar (cobbles)last season?
    Great result from LDB

Shaw is such a powerhouse. Came from running background and heard his power stats were even more impressive than Irvine's (and thats saying something) When he gets a few more seasons in his legs the bike skills and cuteness will improve

I took part in the A4 race in last years Mullingar crit and finished top 10 a couple of metres behind the same Damien Shaw who finished 3rd or 4th I think. Yes, he was racing A4 then. 12 months later he's almost national champion - a superb athlete and well done to him.

Here's a shot I got of the finish to last years A4 Race... looks like Shaw in the middle alright.
