    Hi all,

Is there any exemption (vat/duty) from importing items from the United States that you would have owned and used for a year while living there?

Example, buy a lawn mower there, use it for a year and then bring back to Ireland, would this be liable for import duty and vat? I'll be moving to the US for about a year and will need to buy bits and pieces that I don't intend leaving behind.

    Thanks :)

These are personal items so no Import duty applies.

They are not being imported for sale but are coming with you as personal belongings
