Selling and sending to Belgium. Anything to watch out for?

I've an item up on Adverts and have a buyer from Belgium who is interested and seems legit. Certainly not setting any alarm bells with me, other than buying from so far away.

    http://www.adverts.ie/pro-audio/vestax-vci-100-1-4-firmware-w-black-knobs-and-djtt-overlay-firmware-update-board-inc/620113

He's happy with my price and he's happy enough to cover the shipping, once we find the best way of sending it. He says he can pay by Paypal or bank transfer. Which one should I go for? AFAIK Paypal will take a slice of any payment made to my account (must check how much) but otherwise I've no issue with having the money available to spend from my Paypal account. Bank transfer may be easier on the fees but is it any easier to be swindled too?

I know there has to be a certain amount of trust but is there anything I should be watching out for?

Looks like shipping will be either An Post or GLS, costing about €35 -€40 for a 3kg package. Any other shipping methods I should be looking at?

Thanks for any advice. I've been buying online for years but feel like a complete noob now that I'm selling!

Nigeria, Italy & Belgium are places that eBay sellers commonly refuse to send to. Not sure why Belgium, but Italy is because of their dodgy as hell postal service, and Nigeria should be obvious. But I've seen the three of these countries excluded all the time from auctions.

If he pays you by Bank transfer, then he cannot dispute the payment. If you accept Paypal, then he could be using a stolen account, and you would lose the money (plus there would be fees).

How can someone in Belguim open an adverts account anyway?
He must have done the phone verification thing...
If you decide to send make sure you ONLY send to the paypal address and not a different one if he requests that, and make sure its tracked. Proof of postage is not important, but proof of delivery is the only way you will get recompense should anything go wrong.

I miss the original adverts.ie where you'd meet up with the other party and deal safe(ish) in the knowledge that if they messed you about several other Boards members would know them and help get it sorted.

I don't need to sell the controller and so far all I've had are a randomer from Belgium of dubious origin, and some other guy whose only contribution on Adverts seems to be asking people if things are still available, but never buying anything. At this stage I'm inclined to just withdraw the ad and keep it :(
