Make sure you have the midi drivers installed correctly for your device. Then go into the menu along the top of the programme that allows you to adjust audio & midi settings. When you click " midi " devices (or something similar) there will be a list of available devices/ if your usb keyboard is featured there ensure that the check box is ticked before exiting. In your midi track in track view click on the Input Box and locate the USB Keyboard from the drop down list then choose omni as the channel option. You must then tell you vst instrument to take it's input from the USB Keyboard midi track in it's own dropdown list. Enable the track and play the keyboard - you should have sound!
If no USB keyboard device appears in the midi settings menu then it hasn't installed correctly. Re run the installation programme and select "Repair" as an option if it appears, then follow the above steps again.
    Post how you get on.
