Hi, sorry if thsi question has been asked before. I did a search and couldnt find a substantive answer.

At the moment we are looking to get a triple heating system in our 3 bed house which we are renovating.

We are looking to get system which runs on Gas, Solid fuel(stove) and Solar.

In particular, we want the radiators to run on gas and a solid fuel stove/burner.

The plumber is saying this is a very costly thing to install and do (13,000). Aparently the gas is a pressurised system and the stove is not. Also the plumber is saying that the boiler would need to be quite big for the triple system.

Is it as complicated and costly as he says or is there an easier way?

I read in a thread here about a pressurised wood burner. Any info on these? can they be integrated better?

    Hi
I have a triple heating system using solar, solidcfuel and oil condensed boiler, i installed a heating control system from comeragh controls in tipp and it is the job, both solid fuel and oil boiler are controlled by this system, for example if the oil boiler was set to come on at 4 in tge evening and the stove was lit an hour earlier, there is a temp stat on the backboiler which sends a signal to the control unit abd shuts off the oil boiler, simply one or the other is on at any one time.
As for a gas boiler, no idea about this

I am a plumber by trade and your heating system is a same as many installed.

you can run all the different heat sources together no problem using different ways.
1- using a maxi pod from copper industries
2- using a vented gas boiler and standard tripe coil eco cylinder from alibion

the maxi pod will allow you install a pressuried gas boiler and still install a vented system for the soild fuel but this system work different than a standard system

a lot of gas boilers can be installed on a open vent system therefore doesnt need to be pressurised and you could easily link all together the stove and the gas boiler to supply the radiators

dont worry about the solar its a complete system on its own and doesnt get linked to any other heating system you just need a seperate coil in the cylinder for it.

if your plumber can see the solution he may not be the man for the job. and 13000 it must be a big house.
im from the north and do jobs the odd time in the south usally bring all materials down as its so experience in the south
