    Hi Guys,

    What is a golf MATCH?

I bought a Golf 1.6 Highline model and i'm trying to register for car insurance but on the 25plus.ie website the only model that is similar to my car is a 'MATCH TDI (105) -1598cc -5dr - Hatchback'.

I am just wondering what is a Golf 'MATCH'?

    Thanks,
    Sean.

It's a UK only trim level. Don't think the trim level matters all that much to an insurance co.

It's a special edition, I don't think it was sold here. Ring the ins co/broker to check, i've always found phone quotes to be cheaper (and more open to negotiation) anyway.

    Yes it does

There were 100's in the difference between various trim levels when I was being quoted by brokers 12 months ago

    No idea why

Ok this is a bit crap because the only trim level that is similar to my car is the 1.6 DSG 105BHP Highline - But my car is manual!

You can transfer insurance for a few days if needs be while the ins company looks up the new car

It usually costs nothing but some ins companies charge a few euors for the pleasure

Yeah im sure 25plus.ie are probably like that because they charge extra for changing your details online.

Have the exact same problem when renewing the insurance on the wife's Golf GT Sport 122bhp. All the insurance sites have the 140 and 170 versions as GT Sports but the 122 version doesn't apparently exist. Closest to it is the Match which is what I click. Try explaining that to some young girl in the insurance company call centre when actually buying the policy!
