Hi

4 years ago i insuured my van with mike murphy insurance as an plastering company (brokers).At the start of this year i change my company and now i have a ccleaning company.When i renew my insurance i told them i am a cleaning cdompany,i paid them with an cleaning company cheque and the direct debit was from a cleaning company.About 6 weeks ago one of my drivers had a crash,nothing major.I rang the broker and i was told i will get a form in the post to fill out and that will be it.When i fill up the form i put it down as cleaning company for my tread.From here the problems are starting.
The broker never told the insurance that i changed my tread,they renew my old policy.The broker told me that i didnt told them that i am a cleaning company,but i did,so i asked them for the agreement i signed but they dont have it for some reason.The broker rang me to ask me for an aditional 300€ for my policy if i want to trade as an cleaning company and if i want the claim sorted.I dis so.But two weeks later i found out that my trade was the issue for the claim not being sorted.Now i am stuck between the broker and the inssurer.I am being sent from one to the other one and i am being put in hold for hours.Last monday i was told that a letter was sent to me so i need just to sign it and that s it.Never got the letter and today when i rang in they tiold me they never sent any letter and they only deal with the broker but the man incharge of me in the broker tells me i have to deal with the insurance company.
I am just abou to go to the insurance federation and omudsman but i just want to ask for another opinion.Is there any way to sort this issue?Is there any law in place?4 years i paid up and when i have a issue i am being sent away.
