Questions to ask your parents for keepsake video

Thinking of videoing my parents and asking them a list of questions sort of like an interview to keep into the future for when they depart this mortal coil.

What questions would you like to ask your parents (individually)?

    I'll start with a couple -

What's your greatest memory of your school years?

What was the happiest day of your life?

Who have you most admired in public life during your life?

If there was one thing you could change about your life what would that be?

So, stuff along those lines, nothing too maudlin ! The aim is to have this video to look back on in the years to come.

    Cheers !

    Where was I conceived?

Should be about their lives not yours !! The aim is to ask them about their lives.

    To immortalise them on video

Do you mind if I remind you of your own mortality?

Jesus Christ OP, that's a bit miserable.

If I said to my mom or dad 'can I just interview you in case you kick the bucket soon?' the only answer I'd get would be a clip round the ear.

I hope so, I'm enjoying it far too much for it to end.
The OP should show it to his parents, he'll want to record their response to the greatest love story of our generation.

Two things we are sure of in life - death and taxes;)

Of course if they were quite elderly and probably had max 10 years to live then this thread would be more appropriate for you, if you don't expect them to "kick the bucket" in the next ten years then best not to approach them about it !

I'm going to do this this year as well hopefully.

I'm not sure of the questions to ask though, something leading to get them waffling and then sit back and enjoy the stories. Perhaps get some old photo albums out to remind them of different moments and they could talk about the days that are pictured.

My Mam was waffling on about her youth growing up on a farm the last weekend I was home and I was sorry we hadn't gotten it recorded.

I'd be more interested in some stories and reminisces than formal questioning about the Cuban Missile Crisis and 'when were you happiest' etc.
