Hi all. Does anyone know what the apprentice salaries are for any of the medium sized firms in Ireland? In particular Does anyone know the training contract salary for Mason Hayes+Curran?

    Thanks!

Small medium size you'll be lucky if you get anything at all. minimum wage otherwise ( and no this isn't some scare tactic thing ;) )

and in the large firms you might be getting around hourly minimum wage levels too ;-) since although the salary is high(er), you might be doing 60-70 hour weeks

Well I'm speaking more about large firms that don't make to top 5 cut like the one I mentioned. I'm well aware of the situation with TCs in Ireland!

Also well aware of working hours as a trainee! However, the big firms offer 30-40k so just wondering what the slightly smaller firms offer.

It's unfortunate that we lack a readily available source of insider information such as rollonfriday.co.uk for the UK firms.

I'm sure training you get in a smaller big firm would be much more valuable than in the likes of AC, MOPs etc as you most likely be given more responsibility. But we all want to know what the firm puts on the table regardless of whether or not it's the most important thing!

Much appreciated if anyone can throw out a few figures!

I'd spare the terms like "not making the cut" if you actually want to get a training contract. The firm you are writing about does as valuable and complex work as the other firms, they just don't employ the same number of people.

Also, your degree of specificity seems to suggest you almost have a job offer there so why not just ask them what they pay. Nobody here is going to tell you what they earn.

When I said not making the cut I didn't mean that in any negative way whatsoever. It was purely in regard to size. My interest in the firm reflects how highly I think of them.

Unfortunately I don't have a job offer there. But would consider myself lucky to get one.

I don't understand why salaries are such taboo in Ireland particularly in the legal segment. Especially since they are so readily available and even published on Firms' websites in the UK.

And I'd like to state that there are many more things important to me than the salary before anyone jumps to an assumption!
