Looking for somewhere to get some cheap-ish tyres.

Tried Eire Tyres, but cheapest ones are coming in at 80 quid which I can get locally at that price.

Anyone know of anywhere else that's good for tyres?

    Looking for; 195/80 R15 / 96

    Thanks guys!

Please don't use cheap and tyres in the same sentence...no money should be spared as they're the only thing holding you to the road. Get the best you can for what you can afford, if you can't then save longer and get grippier tyres.

The OP could however get cheaper good branded tyres though...

Jesus thats a big profile for a 15inch wheel, is it a jeep?

Have you tried camskill.co.uk?? also it might be worth trying a slightly different profile the difference in price can be unreal soetimes ;)

    Thanks for the feedback guys!

Yeah the tyres are for a Freelander.

Not looking to get super cheap tyres, however checked a few places locally and just thought I might be able to get the same brand/quality online for a bit cheaper! :p

Be prepared to be laughed at by most tyre shops.

Does anyone know if tyres up the north are cheaper?

Tyres can be cheaper in the northt, but any of the border counties, should be able to match the price.

Plenty of places fit them, why would they turn away work, i have only met one tyre shop that wouldnt fit tyres bought online, one of the big names so im sure you can guess :D

As for supporting your local center, im with you on that, if i can get a tyre for even in and around the same price ill stick with the local, but last time i bought 4 brand new tyres they were £29 each with next day delivery, the closest any locals could do was over 60 euro a tyre  most of them said they could do that price but not on that tyre, but hey i will not cheap out on tyres. I will look for a good price on tyres but they have to be up to the task, no triangles or sunnys here :D

Toyo T1-R's in 195/50/15's are cheap to buy, and amazing on the road ;)

Last time I ordered them I got them for €35 a corner delivered!

I'm obviously getting my tyres from the wrong places!

Im gonna take that as a joke or a troll comment, if your serious do a bit of research before you talk crap

These are the tyres (second on the left) bar the lack of a stiff sidewall and the fact they arent an R compound tyre, they are a great tyre for the money, like ive said ive got alot of normal driving, a track day and a day at the Nurburgring out over mine and their is still alot of driving left in them. So dont write off a product just because of its price, judge something on its quality ;)

I'm looking for tyres for a mkv gti 225/40/18

Don't want to spend more than I have to, looking for decent grip and not a soft compound that will wear fast.

I have done a bit of searching and come up with
    Vredestein Sessanta tyres

they are working out at 137 a corner fitted.

Anyone have another suggestion before I go ahead?

    Cheers

Good price and a very good tyre. Used to always buy the Vredstein Ultracs in that exact size for the SRi for the same price. Great tyre and that was the cheapest price around

    cheers, good to know.

Do you think sticking 2 of these of the front, and cheaper stuff on the back such as
Accelera Tyres @85 a corner would be fine?

I had Vredestein Sportrac 3 tyres on my Passat previously (215/55/R16) but the place I was getting them from (at €85 a corner) seems to be gone and no one else I've tried does them - at least not at anywhere near that price :(

And why is it that most of these tyre places have to order them in? I mean it's the standard Passat size and there's enough of them on the road so you'd think most places would at least have 2.

Any suggestions for a budget of about €160 for 2 - Dublin/Meath/Cavan area?

I have Accelera Phi on my car (MG ZT) and they were on the 520i I had before that. Wouldn't have bought them only for them being on the 520i to be honest as I hadn't heard of them. I've had no problem with them in the wet or dry.

Just to pick up on this one too...

While yes I agree in principle, reality for most people now is that everything has to be cut back and these things always seem to happen at the worst possible time (in my case a week from payday). Waiting isn't always an option too when you need the car to get to work every day (200km round trip for me :()

So yes, while it'd be nice to be able to spend €150 a tyre unfortunately I have €500 in diesel and tolls to pay as well this month, need about another €300 to get an electrical and glow plug issue sorted and of course there's the more mundane bills like the ESB, gas etc that all have to be paid too.

I'm not having a go incidentally, just pointing out that unfortunately people do need to get the best value they can for ever decreasing funds (as our government comes up with ever more inventive ways to extract what little is left). :)

Yes, I've T1Rs on the Exige and can't complain. Funny thing is I needed tyres before thae last time I took it to Ireland and put on the T1Rs instead of ADO48s as I expected to be driving through rain and cow **** all the time. The only rain I saw was on the M1 on the way to Holyhead and I got sunburned in Donegal.

Personally would always stick with the same on all 4 corners. I would go for all 4 Sessantas for the price you are getting

Do you mind if i ask how you find the AD048`s, Personally the best road legal tyre ive used is the Bridgestone Potenza RE01-R but since they have discontinued them ive been looking for something in the same league, ive tried the Toyo R888 and loved them but i was thinking about the AD048 next. Are they ok in the wet if respected??
