    Hi,

not sure if this is the right forum for this, so mod please feel free to move.

My question is this who is present during cabinet meetings?
    • All the Ministers
    • Taoiseach & Tanaiste
    • Attorney General
After this who else? What civil servants are there? The secretary general for the department of the Taoiseach? Is the government press secretary in attendance? What other civil servants are there and in what capacity?

Also, what standing orders (rules & regs) are in place to manage/organise the meeting?

    Hopefully someone can help......

    Fini

Well the Cabinet are there, ie. the front bench, along with the super junior minsisters who can't actually say anything AFAIK.

Maybe if you look for photographs of the people at a cabinet meeting (eg on Google Images), you can figure it out. Please let me know what you find :)

I'd imagine it's ministers and whatever other politicians the main government leaders want to be there.

Even then some ministers can be excused

the only ones present are the executive others can be invited but not always present. Many reasons for this one being leaks to the press etc

The Government meets there. (check out The Constitution; you will see there is no mention of "a cabinet" although that word has crept into common usage. The collective term for the ministers in control is "the government." The AG does not attend.
