Hey guys, Im moving into a new house at the end of the month. The old tenants had sky and the dish and cabling are still there. Im looking to put in a Saorview freesat combo box when i move in. I have never done this before so my question is can i just plug the new box into the satellite or will i have to make any changes to the setup. i.e. different dish, realign the dish, etc.(The saorview side of things are sorted)

    Thanks

You can use the existing working dish no problem

I have installed the box and the freesat is working perfectly but I am having trouble getting the saorview to work. When I scan, the box picks up the RTE news and RTENL channels along with a few test screens that are labelled "for future service" or something along those lines. Im guessing that the signal getting to my box is not strong enough. All the houses on my street (approx 20) are sharing a single aerial so I cant go messing with that. so my question is, am I better off getting a signal booster or buying my own aerial and putting it in the attic?

Also 1 other question. Is it possible to get Eurosport on free to air?

You won't get the Saorview signal off the satellite. You need to hook it up to an aerial.

Eurosport aren't free to air, alas.

Yes, with German commentary, and another dish pointed at 19E. Also need a DiSEqC switch.
