I'm not sure I understand. Your PS3 should have come with a composite cable and SCART adapter. If you are talking about converting the HD signal to SD SCART, there would be absolutely no benefit in doing so.

I think you mean changing the PS settings to output through SD instead of HD?

Just connect the scart cables and turn the PS off. Turn it on but hold the button for a few seconds until it beeps. Then it'll appear on the AV channel.
