Hi im looking for a thermostat housing and a fast idle control valve for my prelude. Tried the main dealer but they said there not making these parts anymore. My engine is a B20A (jap import), and its 4ws.

There a few miles on it and parts seem to be hard got, so i was thinking would it be worth while converting to h22a engine.. Does any1 know if there is much work in putting this engine in, i priced 1 for 670 euro and 50k on it..

    Feedback would be great!!

Icetronix have done plenty of H22 conversions, give them a shout and see what they can do for you. They may also have the part you were originally looking for as they have broken a few Preludes over the years!

I used to get Blueprint parts for my 91 import CR-X. They specialize in oem parts for JDM motors.

Bit of a long shot but try a parts request

    http://www.partfinder.ie/cgi-bin/parts_request.pl

or phoning Traynors in Norn Iron.

I've found Traynors to be the most unhelpful pricks I've ever come across. They rarely respond to e-mails and if you're looking for a part that they can't be bothered finding they'll tell you they have none.

Don't forget the ECU and wiring loom too. I'd not bother with it tbh, it's going to be very expensive.

If you can get the original part number for the bits you're looking for and google them/stick them into ebay. I used have an old Jap import and I was able to get stuff for it without too much trouble, but some of it came from places like Canada...

yes that is a good guide through the process, I already done this earlierr on 2day and mine has 2 coils inside, small coil in assembley on bottom and bigger coil on top.
after this i started the car and and same problem, reving range 1500- 1800 rpm, i disconnected the electrical connection to the iacv and car ran at 800 rpm which i think ruled out the fast idle valve as the prob. took the iacv valve out but couldnt get into the components as there is a pentagon headed bolt holding in place i didn have this tool to take it apart as i was going to clean it.

my quest is will i buy a new iacv or will i get the special key to take it apart and clean the fcker as a new iacv is pretty pricy!!??can i run the car without the iacv it seems to idle ok..

Many of the european spec 97 on Honda CR-V's where fitted with B20's so you could look for those in breakers too...

B20A in the old Prelude, B20B/Z in the CRV. Two completely different engines, as you'd expect based on the years.

    B20A bore x stroke: 81mm x 95mm
    B20B bore x stroke: 84mm x 89mm

It was a small trim piece that covers the battery in the engine bay of a B6 Audi A4. They were bound to have some in stock but I'd say the part was so small that they weren't bothered selling it.

I have since tried to contact them several times for other parts and they haven't replied.

All B series engines are the same design, the just have various capacities. There are numerous versions of B16/B18/B20. The minor external parts that the OP is looking for are often the same on all versions.
