    Hey,

First of all flights are out of the question so preferably boat and train or boat and bus. It'd be nice if I could book the boat and train/bus in the one. Ie. You can book ferry and train from Dublin to London.

The thing is, I have no idea where to look.

Anyone got any ideas? Just I will be booking a flight departing from Manchester Airport and I'll need to be there from Dublin without flying.

I'm very curious as to why you can't fly out of DUB to MAN, but I'm sure you have your reasons! :p

    irish ferries do railsail too.
so you can get eurolines(ferry+bus) or either of the ferry companies rail/sail.
manchester airport has a train station in it.

If you're going to go the SailRail route just shoot for Manchester, the Airport is only 10mins from Piccadilly and trains to it are regular.

Dublin to Manchester costs around €30-35 one way AFAIK.

Don't bother with the coach, it's an absolutely painful journey.

Thanks, Just last year I got caught by the snow in Sofia and then my flight between Manchester and Dublin went ahead and I was stuck in Sofia so I missed my flight and forfeited the money and I had to wait 2 days to get to Manchester and then I had to pay Mr. O'Leary quite a bit of money for such a late booking. SO I don't want this to happen again :p

Just I could book this sail and rail on the day of departure for the same price as other days, however with flights prices fluctuate and generally are extremely expensive on the day to book.

Thanks everyone, I'm currently looking at the Eurolines option, €50 return.

It's slightly dearer to book on the day, but you can do it. There's a booking desk at Dun Laoghaire terminal. I'm sure there's one in Dublin port too.

I second Savman. Eurolines or any ferry/bus combo is a pain.

Personally I think you need to get over it. It's not going to snow and something else could happen your bus/train/ferry whatever also.
