I loved this place http://www.pineforestartcentre.com/ when I was a kid. 100% recommend. My little guy is going to yoga camp in Smithfield, elbowroom, they have a good offer on and they do art!

    Hi Leela

I'm running a Summer Camp at the moment and found that these art activities seem to go down well with the kids.

We are making chimes from 1/2 copper tubing. (bit of work involved, as you have to cut three different sizes of copper tubing for each kid.) We use metal jar caps for the top end. Just knock 4 holes through with nail and thin plastic garden rope for the string. It's loads of fun, easy to do and if you don't mind the 'noise' level once the kids get it done... it's entertaining.

Second idea is paper mache piggy banks made from round balloons, egg carton bits for feet and nose, pipe cleaner for tail. Once it's all dry, cut a slot at the top (which pops the balloon inside) and go mad painting it. You can use stickers and glitter to make it super special. Just make sure you have about 3 layers of paper mache otherwise it's not strong enough.

Last one... use old canvas board. Loads of different types of pasta. Kids paint the pasta, once dry they stick it onto the board to make a 'group pasta art' picture. I wrote the Clubs name on it with marker and pasted pasta around the outside of the word. The kids get to fill in all the open spaces with their colored pasta. Messy, but again loads of fun.

Hope that helps... good idea is to go to the library and get one of their 'Craft Idea' books.

    Have fun

    Celia

Just saw this Video: It might be a bit early for Christmas, but some of the ideas are easy to make for all ages and great for Christmas time as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DROE2wEoi0k
