    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

    Article

Unfortunately, the traditional N/A engine is now a bi-turbo and some purists conservative drivers will mourn the demise of the 20th century style manual gear box and clutch pedal, but 560BHP, 680NM, 0-100km/h in 4.4s and a top speed of over 300km/h while having relatively low fuel consumption and emission figures are pretty impressive

Can't wait for first drive reviews :)

Even though Porsche's designers are supposed to be the laziest in the business, I'm starting to think BMW's are these days. Here's the e90 3 Series :

And here's the new M5. Spot the difference :

I know they are to do with cooling, but I hate the three gaping holes in the front bumper that BMW put on nearly all of their 'M' models.

I like the F10...certainly more than its predecessor

if you think that e90 3 series looks like the 5 - wait till you see the latest version.

I must admit it took me a few weeks to tell the difference between the latest 5 and 7, can easily now though.

I know the F10's a great car, I worked on one recently, but it's pathetic how identical it looks to the e90 from the exterior.

I don't think it looks stunning, I don't think it stands out at all, which is perfect for the M5.

Of course petrol-heads will recognize them anyway, but if Joe Public walks past without a second glance, all the better.

Dude, why complain? You will be doing overtime spraying BMW calipers black by (garish) the looks of that. :D

Lovely specs and numbers on the car, looks are a bit too futuristic and boyish for me

Wasnt a manual box all but confirmed for this model too? It was offered in the US (of all places) in the e60 M5 also.

I think it looks great, though the full on side is a bit weak.

The F10M will have a proper three pedal manual available, but as with the E60, it's probably only for the US - which of course is totally ironic.

Amazing fuel consumption for the power on offer, and I'm glad the power increase is not as much as was previously reported - it's still going to be bloody quick with all of its 550+ bhp.

I think the car looks stunning - it looks like a proper M car should. I just hope it drives like an M car should - as we know the regular F10 has been slated for the way it does not drive like a BMW should.

    its still no e39 :(

id love to see how they managed to get 28mpg out of it though , id say most m5 drivers would be lucky to get 20 even with all the changes

Never got the love of the older 5 series, Id have the last generation or the new model any day before the older ones, in any model of 5 series not just the M5.

most of my issue with it is my utter hatrid of idrive and that you cant change the stereo aswell as that piddly looking gearstick

that and the e38/e39/e46 are the nicest looking bodies bmw have ever made imo

Yeah, why is it when you have a modern BMW these days with auto that the shifter looks like a silver penis?

I hate the duck-bill bonnet, and the fact that it looks like a big wallowing oaf of a car, but it's slowly growing on me (I mean the F10 generally). I would still rather the new 7 series, which is (marginally) bigger, but looks much tidier and more refined to me.

I actually think that myself. In M-Sport trim it strangely reminds me of an elephant in a ballerina dress.

The front grille looks so awful and out of proportion with the rest of the car that it would actually be a deal breaker for me:

M5 looks great. That blue shade does nothing for it though, very garish. This M5 is a little on the chavy side for my liking, but the right colour, trim and wheels should make it look the business.

I think it looks stunning TBH. I loved the E60 and I really love the F10. I especially like the front bumper, Looks savage.
