emergency tax and getting it back...?

    ok so i started my first job last week and when i got my pay slip today it said i was taxed emergency tax and it took a lot out of my wages... im just wondering the procedure to go about getting this emergency tax back? i heard u can.. thanks :)

    You should get it back from your employer when they get your tax cert. If not I think you can apply direct to the tax office to get it back. Either way you should have it back in a couple of weeks.

    i got a job and i quit.

    i got paid about 400 and i got tax about 80e.

    i have no p45 so how can i get it back ?

    Hi

    Ask for a balancing statement at the end of the year (P21) or complete a tax return (Form 12).
