Does anyone know where exactly the pollen filter is located and how it can be removed in a 2006 B6 Passat.

I was told the glovebox and that I should removed two screws on the top but when I went to do it I ended up removing 2 screws on the top and 3 underneath and then the whole glovebox started coming out.

I decided to stop in case I was in the wrong area.....

You don't need to remove the glove box on the B6

The pollen filter is up behind the glovebox, access from the footwell. There is a plastic cover that you slide to one side to get the filter out.

    Its underneath?

I tried that one but possibly I was doing it wrong.

3 screws holding it in place but it just seemed to make the glovebox loose and there was no give in it

I think you might be doing it wrong alright, its the same on most modern VW's.

    Have it out now :D

Nice and black and full of leaves, although it has been changed at some stage as its a UNIPART filter

How much is a new one from a motor factor?

I assume there is no need to go to the main stealer for this

    :o
Sorry I just call it aircon

If its raining outside and I turn on the car with aircon on it steams up immediately and takes a minute to clear.

Just thought I'd change the filter anyway to help it at least. No leaks to be found anywhere so I've ruled that out

My father in law's B5.5 has the pollen filter under the passenger side of the engine bay and it's easy to change. My wife's A2 has it in the passenger footwell and it's a bugger to get back into position. I don't know why they made it so much more difficult on the B6.
