Hi, i've installed a wireless cctv system around my house with the 4 channel reciever hooked up to a laptop. I uploaded a programme called "easyviewer" off the disc which works fine. The system has an option to email a picture every time motion is detected and this is where i'm stuck!
It ask's me for 3 things:
    SMTP server (whats this?)
Username (is this the email address i want it sent from?)
    Password (the email's password?)

Also, is there anyway i can set it up that it records onto my 1tb external hard drive and not on the computers own memory?

    Cheers

The SMTP server is the server to send the mail through. What the username and password are will depend on the server and its configuration.

Do you have an email address already that you can access using either POP or IMAP (that is to say, not through a web browser)?

    I have outlook express (eircom).

If you use outlook express then you must have it set up already to send mail through eircom's smtp server. Look at your settings in outlook express, or look on the eircom website for directions on setting up email clients here:

    http://support.eircom.net/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/&/?St=198&E=0000000000293168885&K=7525&Sxi=9&Case=obj%286736%29

    Outgoing mail server*: mail1.eircom.net

So "mail1.eircom.net" is the smtp server. The username and password are the same as you use to login to eircom webmail.
