    Not sure if this is the best forum to post, but since I presume it's an anti-bird measure I thought I'd try here. I'm sure it wasn't there Monday; I pick up the Metro at the station and quite often cross to watch the gulls on the mudbanks. Can anybody clarify for me if this is for scaring the pigeons or something? It was tethered on a line to a pole, a bit like a fishing rod, along the wall overlooking the Liffey.



    Sorry for the traffic noise - I did have the volume turned down but haven't figured out how to delete the audio track.

    Its probably there to stop feral pigeons messing up the train station

    That's what I thought, but I'd never seen it before. In fact, just the last time I was along the river side there I snapped a shot of three pigeons on the wall beside me. Do you think it would affect the gulls too or just the pigeons? There's a good variety of gulls plus a moorhen and sometimes swans and grey wagtail along that part of the river.
