Cheap/Easy ways to keep a laptop cool

I've a Dell Vostro 1500, running Windows 7, latest bios, clean fan etc, etc. No problems with it, but when I'm gaming on it, or using it for audio production, it does get quiet hot. Now I've never had any problems with it when it's got hot, but at the same time, If I could have a way to keep it cooler/increase air supply while it's under heavy load, I would consider it.

Just gave a quick look, and my options seems to be some sort of a laptop stand like this http://cgi.ebay.ie/CiT-Laptop-Notebook-Cooler-Stand-Riser-3-x-6cm-Fans-USB-/260772691046?pt=UK_Computing_LaptopAccess_RL&hash=item3cb7437c66#ht_1140wt_905 , or some sort of a stand that would give more space between the laptop and the table and let it get more air.

Do people have any recommendations? Is it worth my time/money if I'm not having any problems (and haven't for 3.5 years at this stage).

The 2euro shop sells laptop stands. As far as I see, they just raise them at the back a bit, but it does allow some heat to escape. If you're concerned about heat, I'd try the €2 stand before shelling out €24 on that yoke.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking the same at the moment, I just found two bits of rubber there to prop the laptop up there at the back, does the same thing and it's free. I'll see how it goes anyway.

Definitely interested if people have other methods that they use to keep their laptops cool though!

This is pretty cheap for what it is, Ikea have something similar thats a little cheaper too.
