I got my results this morning and I failed an exam. I know I have to repeat it, I think the exams start on August 17th. Is the exam arranged for me, or do I have to contact the lecturer or the college? This is my first time failing an exam so I am not really to sure on what to do.

I think they send you out a form with your results and on that form you apply to sit the repeat exam. Probably best to talk to your lecturer anyways and ask them about the repeat exam.

The college will probably send out a form with your result letters. You return the form and the exams office will enter you for thhe exam.

Thanks for the help. One more question, when I was looking at my results on the noticeboard today, it said under one of them 'EX', which stands for Exemption Granted.

    What does this mean?

I think it means that you failed the subject but they are passing you for it anyways. It usually happens when you get 35% or higher in a subject.

This link has everything explained but I do suggest meeting with your lecturer, or even a phonecall if you can get through to them. Best of luck.

Not correct. If you have exemptions granted you have to repeat at least one subject.

    correct
    Exemptions Granted:

This means that you have gained exemptions in the subjects indicated on the statement as Exemption and these subjects do not need to be retaken. However, you are required to retake all other subjects in order to complete this stage of your studies.
