Vintage insurance where main car isn't mine?

I'm half considering a vintage car, something in ok-ish condition, road worthy but something that I can work away on restoring over time. So because it wouldn't be driven much, or at all initially I don't want to pay out full insurance for it, would be a complete waste if the car is only going to be driven very rarely.

I know it's possible to get vintage insurance provided you have another car as your main driver.

My main car is leased, so while the insurance is in my name, the car itself is registered in the lease company name. Will that matter would you think or would the leased car be considered my main driving car in that case?

Probably dreaming here anyway but good to know the option is there should I finally go for it.

Usually you will be OK given that you have the USE of a main car. They wont be looking for the logbook or anything anyway.

It should be fine , I drive a company car as my main car - so its not in my name and I've had no problems with either FBD or Carole Nash on vintage policies over the last few years.

Cheers for that, so all I have to do now is quit dreaming and go get something to work on.
