August repeat exam and continuous assessment

So, unsurprisingly, I managed to fail a subject where I hadn't got the assignment (30% of overall mark) submitted at all.

My exam results say something to effect to that I've to repeat more than just the written exam. Just wondering, how is this normally handled? Are students ever able to submit some kind of repeat of the assignment (/continuous assessment) ahead of the August repeat exam? Or are you just stuck with the grade you did/didn't get in the assignment?

    Part-time course here. Kev St.

    Thanks

The system might say "repeat all components" but you can still pass overall by getting a high enough score in the repeat exam (admitedly it would have to be pretty high to pass if you have 0 on your assignment).
You might as well work your arse off and try pass just on the written exam because your only other option to repeat the assignment would be to do it again next year hence having to repeat the year (or you could maybe carry the subject into your next year if they allow it, unless this is your final year of course).

So to answer your question, yes, you're stuck with your assingment grade BUT you can still get by without it.

I don't know if this is a course thing or a College-Wide thing but in my course, DT365, if we need to repeat anything, they will take account of what is most beneficial to you. So if you did well in your CA, they will include it. But if you didn't, they will let your Supplemental Result be your total overall result.

Also, what ever grade you do get in the repeat, it will be capped at 40%, even if you answer everything correctly.

The 40% cap has been changed in most cases.

In my degree course I know of a few people that were just asked to redo the assignments of summer and hand them up. That passed them. Worth talking to the tutor or course coordinater about.

Oh I thought that was a College-Wide thing, must just be a course thing.

Anyway OP, your best bet is to contact your course co-ordinator. They will tell you everything you need to know

Well it depends on the year in the course. This post explains it.
