    Hi,

Anyone know of anyone doing day parking rates in D2, near Nassau St.

Hopefully an empty office block with a car park that the landlord/owner is willing to rent a day spot for the summer months? 8.30am to 6pm would be fine.

I know Setanta do 9am-6pm for €12 per day pre-booked. Something along the lines of that.

    Or maybe take Public transport/cycle?

Wow, I didn't think of that. But a 65 mile cycle to work and then again home in the evening might just be a bit too much :D

Plus, traffic is light for the summer, and it is far quicker than:

Car to train station (Portlaoise, about 15 mins)
Train to Heuston (75 mins for 55 miles, ridiculous)
    Bus/luas up the quays
5 min walk from Abbey St/O'Connell bridge to Nassau St.

    Or drive to Red Cow
    Luas in to Abbey St
    Walk to Nassau St

At the moment, the driving option is by far the quickest.

I think the Council has (rightly) done away with most of the fly-by-night/"illegal" car parks that set up in abandoned office blocks. There was one such on Molesworth Street that I think isn't operating anymore.

There's a carpark on Drury Street that has day rates, not sure what they are though.

Heuston-O'Connell Bridge is about 5-7 minutes by bus.

The 145 goes from Heuston via Nassau Street about every 10 minutes.

I think there is some Car Park space available privately ON Nassau St in the old Norwich Union Offices....now occupied by the Independent College...worth a phone call to them perhaps ?

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.
