Flying from Shannon

    Hi all

How easy is it to drive to Shannon from Kerry. I haven't flown from Shannon for years (not since the new tunnel) as I normally either go from Farranfore (Kerry airport) or Cork. Also, I am planning to stay at the airport hotel (as my return flight is at night and dont fancy driving a route I am not too sure of). It is the Park Inn and is it easy to get to (I understand it is in the airport itself and not too far from the departure lounge).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    It's very easy

Approx 1hr 20min Tralee to Limerick, then about 20mins to airport

In fairness, the tunnel has made getting to Shannon from the east/south/west of Limerick a much more pleasant experience: as you come in the M20 towards Limerick, the road filters onto the N18/Galway road (previously, it brought you into the Childers Rd/Roxboro area of the city). From there, you're straight to the tunnel and you rejoin the "old" N18 dual carriageway just before the Two Mile Inn.

The Park Inn is very convenient for the airport: you'll pass it on your way to the car-park/departures, so you can see exactly where you need to go when you arrive back in.
