Hey. I have loads of revision books that my mum got in work, and I'll just go over what I thought of them

Irish: I had the ReviseWise. It was excellent, and it had loads of excellent sample answers, and it also covered the new syllabus!

English: ReviseWise. Alright, it wasn't too good as it did different studied texts to me. The personal writing section was poor, also.

Business Studies: I had 3 books. Less Stress More success, ReviseWise and I also had the book keeping Less stress more Success. LSMS was the best, as it had EVERYTHING from exam papers, and a handy index at the back!

History: I had Rapid Revision. It was briliant. Highly reccommend it to anybody!

Best feature of the LSMS. I also had the Geography one, which i found very good.

I had a few Less Stress books, I personally found them terrible:mad: except business.

Overall teachers don't really recommend those revision books in my school, I was told to get one for Religion as we had very little corse done. And for History I got "Shortcut to Success" from a teacher and it was fantastic, too bad I concentrated on the stuff that didn't come up.

I had a few different ones, no set brand. I though the Rapid Revision English with the pink cover was quite good, especially if you're studying Of Mice and Men.

Many of the Revise Wise books were pretty useless and I wouldn't advise them to anybody.

I use Revise Wise, I find them mostly crap! They're ok for night before studying when you're just looking over small things but if you need to write 1 and a half pages on John Calvin that thing will barely get you over 3 paragraphs. Maths is incomprehensible, it just confuses me. Science is good I'll give them that much as it gives you those points you need to know. Geography, no great shakes either you need more detail.

A local bookstore was kind enough to lend me one copy of each of their revision books (junior cert), trust me, there was lots!! And here I examined each and found the best for each one. I have also added a little comment on each.

    Art
    Shortcuts to Success
It's a Project Guide. but still useful!

    Business Studies:
    Less Stress More Success
Very good. Loved how they placed the chapters into different chapters, very useful!

    English:
    Rapid Revision
Love the Layout of the Rapid Revision books. It has great notes!

    French:
    Revise Wise
Ok, It's Good but needs more Vocabulary and such.

    Geography:
    Rapid Revison
The same as English, I just LOVE these books! The Notes are just what you need for revision!

    German:
    Less Stress More Success
Only German revision book, but could be better

    History:
    Rapid Revision
    Excellent layout and notes!

    Home-Economics:
    Revise Wise
Excellent Layout and Notes, It's great to understand!

    Irish:
    Revise Wise
Ok, but it needs some more notes on grammar.

    Maths:
    Revise Wise
It's excellent! I love the examples.

    Science:
    Revise Wise
Good notes and makes things easier to understand!

    Spanish:
    Rapid Revision
    Just Great!

    Religion:
    Revise Wise
    Good Simple Notes

    Music:
    Less Stress More Success
Only Music Revision book. It's good but lacks in some areas.

Hopes this helps anyone else wondering what books to buy for their Junior Cert! :D
