Tax Code "N"

I'm a single bloke who hasn't worked for almost 2 years but received redundancy from my last job. I'm 30 and single. I started a new job 2 months ago but my tax code is N. I am paying very little tax per week (30 euro max, 10 or 12 min). Is that because the money I am on isn't high enough to tax or because I am getting back something owed to me.

You are probably still using up some of your tax credits for the current year.
You started work in April, so you had the credits for Jan-March available as well as the April credits. This means that your tax was probably close to nil in April (depending on your pay for the month) and will gradually equalise over the balance of the year.

You can check my tax calculator to get an idea of what you'll normally pay in tax/ receive net.
