Kilbarrack's D61 was attacked today by youths throwing bricks in broad daylight on the N32. The station officer is receiving treatment in hospital tonight for facial and eye injuries. Best wishes to him and here's hoping he makes a speedy recovery.

This types of incidents are after becoming far too common.
Hopefully the officer will make a quick and full recovery.
something drastic has to be done to stop these attacks before a firefighter is killed,

It used to be common enough before also, dropping blocks from motorway overpasses in Tallaght, then they modified the railings.

    It's back.

If they catch the ****ers who did it, they should take their details and then put their addresses on record, so that when the scummer's houses goes on fire, they can ignore them then:)

Unfortunately throwing bricks at fire appliances in Dublin never went away. It's sort of a hobby for some people

Somewhere in a refugee camp there is a person desperate for a new life were the state provides a emergency service. Once this person is caught we should do a swap.

Then be sure to mark his card
    #Interests Attacking state Emergency Services.

Hope the Firemen make it back to duty.

Unfortunately even if the scummer is caught, the punishment will the usual laughable Irish punishment.

I thought fire trucks had somewhat armoured glass to protect against explosions and other such flying debris hazards at emergency sites? Maybe I'm being too optomistic.

Announce that the entire three-block radius from the incident is off-limits for fire crews without Garda protection until the guy is caught. If the Gardai get there in time for the fire crew to save the building, great. If not, oh well. That way there's an incentive for the locals to actually turn in the lads in question. (And it's not as if they don't know who they are or where they're coming from). Let the neighbourhood council figure it out.

Was always fairly common for the local kids round here to take aim at busses/ambulances/fire brigades once the school holidays kicked in,at one stage they were luring the crews into the local shops by setting bins on fire and then pelting the crews with roofing slates/bricks etc from the roof of the shopping centre.

Community Gardai got involved a few years back and organised a summer football tournament and it's calmed down a lot, except for the odd bus every now and then.

They should organise NOTHING for the dirty little scumbags. A dark night and a few heads with baseball bats maybe. Hope officer makes full recovery.

A 6 month tour out in Afghanistan would sort these kids out good and proper!!

They would learn quick enough how important emergency personnel are when their best mates guts are spilled out on the ground in front of them in the middle of nowhere!

    muppets!

Tour of Afghanistan without a weapon, we don't want to teach them how to shoot too, they cause enough damage with rocks.
