Hello, sorry if there are already dozens of threads with Barcelona info in them and this could be repeated.

Need help finding a cheap flight and holiday package for a hotel near the Olympic Stadium? Going for a week. Any pointers? Some people say La Rambles is a good location but would preferably want somewhere near a beach. Thanks in advance. :)

    Hi

I just got back from Barcelona and La Rambla is very central in Barcelona and there is a beach about 10 - 15 mins walk (depending how fast you can get there!). I stayed in a hotel just off La Rambla. The beach is very clean and to hire a sun-bed is €6 per day. Also there are plenty of bars and even a few Irish ones. I went to one called 'Molly's Fair City'.

    Hope this helps.

Why are you looking for a hotel near the Olympic Stadium? That's not near the beach and it's not an interesting area to stay.

Stay near the Ramblas but a few streets away in the Barrio Gotica so it won't be as busy but still interesting, beach is as said a 10-15 minute walk down the Ramblas.

Why do you need a package? It's a fairly easy thing to get flights and then your own accommodation.

Yea your right a place to stay near the beach would be nice. I thought package deals would be cheaper?

Will keep an eye out for Mollys fair city, thanks. :) I'll be on the look out for good pubs over there alright.

+1 on what the others have said. Seperate flights and Accomadation is the way to go. I stayed in a hotel just off the top of La Rambla and the beach is easily within walking distance. You can get the metro if you don't feel like walking though:D

    Hi guys,
Thought I'd jump on this thread. Have a week off work early Aug. Going go on hols with a few pals. None of us are bothered about where we go so the advice we're getting is to just wait until mid July and check out the deals available on BudgetTravel. Apparently, they cut prices closer to the date to offload unsold packages. I'd be willing to do just that but my mates are taking a bit of convincing. They're worried that they're won't be any delas available for Aug and just wanna book now (which costs about €600) ... any experience or advice with these last min deals?

Your mates want to pay €600 for Barcelona???

Ryanair will get you there for €50 each way, Aer Lingo aren't much more. Where are you getting the 600 figure from, pray tell?

Just back from Barca last week - can recommend this hotel: http://www.hoteljazz.com/

Stayed in it for three nights last week! Was grand. It's just around the corner (2 min walk) from La Rambla! Grand and quiet at night time. Massive bedrooms too which is surprising for city centre hotel! Has a nice roof top pool area too! It's about a 25 min walk to the beach, but that was strolling, taking in all the sights. You can get a taxi there in 10 mins for about 7euro! Good base to work from!

Why would you want all inclusive? Part of the joy of Barcelona is wandering from bar to bar and having tapas in all the different places. If you went all inclusive you'd feel obliged to head back to the hotel to eat, and if not, you're paying extra for AI and not using it.

Why do you want to go to Barcelona? From your posts it seems anywhere with a beach and sun would do, you'd probably get better package deals elsewhere.

Ok i'll rule all inclusive out. Barcelona because i have tickets got for a Bonjovi concert there on the 27th next month. A nice hotel near a beach there would be nice. I'm a fussy person though but at this stage i would settle for anything nice. Thank you for your help! :)
