A truly disgusting development, hopefully the FAI will act swiftfully...
FAI investigate alleged abuse of Zayed
    Tuesday, 14 June 2011 20:06

The FAI are investigating alleged racist abuse of Derry City's Eamon Zayed by a Shamrock Rovers player during their Premier Division game with the Candystripes last night.

The governing body released a statement this afternoon about an issue of racism, without naming the players involved.

Reports in today's Evening Herald say that Libya international Zayed made a formal complaint after the match in Tallaght Stadium.

Referee Richie Winter's report from the match has mentioned the allegation and the match delegate's report has also addressed the issue.

Evidently this isn't an isolated incident :( :

No. I don't think so. It would be like saying does Glasgow have a racist problem with that Celtic fan who made monkey taunts at Diouf. I don't think it says a lot about society.

Funny how a lot of people ignore the league unless they have something negative to say about it.

In any case i've attended a load of games and never heard any racist chants or abuse directed towards any players or fans.

League of Ireland football contains more scum per capita than any other sport in Ireland. FACT!

Nope. You'll get 10 times the amount of racism in other European leagues than you would here.

There's a racism problem everywhere, not just in Irish football or world football, or cricket, or rugby, work, school, kitchen, milk chocolate factory. It's not excusive to Irish football and although is not good and the player will be punished it's not worse then anywhere else.

A few lessons in an educate together school should do the trick.:pac:

Everyone knows that Glasgow football fans are the epitome of tolerance and understanding.

Nice troll by just mentioning Celtic though.
