Spacers required for wheel upgrade?

    Evening all.

Bit of advice required. I've a thread going in motoring on the pros and cons of buying second hand alloys, but the question I want to ask here is this:

The car is a 06 Octavia. Wheels are OE spec 195/65/15, and I'm thinking of getting 235/45/16, which is the wheel size on the vRS. Will I need spacers, or does it depend on the wheels in question?

The current offset is 47mm, but the offset on the vRS is 54mm.

    Any advice/info greatly appreciated.

If I understand you correctly, spacers will increase the off-set and the new wheels already have a bigger off-set, so you will not need spacers. However, you knew enough about off-sets to ask the question so maybe I'm missing something!
