How reliable do you think they are?

    Who?

Well, I have no idea who Eoin Jackson is but all predictions are about as reliable as each other... which is not very.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,292 ✭✭✭LilMissCiara

I can't watch them.. They're far to cringe worthy..! Why can't he sit in front of the camera and say what he thinks will be up? Why all of his ''coolness''?!

In terms of geography, he was pretty much spot on..

But apparently he wasn't that good for Irish (I don't know cause I don't have to do it, but my friend said something about not being right for the poems?)

Bit hit and miss I'd say, but I was happy with the geography ones!

Maybe worth looking over what he has said as most likely.. But I wouldn't rely on it unfortunately :(

He did and passed 27 subjects in the LC last year. He puts up predictions in every subject and I have heard he has been right in all subjects so far.

Wait, didn't he predict Eavan Boland last year?
Well there you go. Not so reliable :p

He predicts some better than others, he's good for history, geography and biology mainly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 313 ✭✭Rabbitandcavy

Ya but he isn't a psycic either. I am using his history predictions for last minute revision so hoping he proves successful tomorrow.

What does he predict for Biology? Youtube videos won't load for me.

He was good today for Business!

My only concern for History is he isn't a teacher of it ( i think ) and goes by trends. He predictions (i think!! ) 3 social questions fairly high for the Nazi book. Where any History teacher would tell you Jarrow is tipped and that will be the social question.

I wait to be proved wrong though, considering his good run so far this year .

For his History predictions I'd only consider his predictions on American history accurate, but it's what everyone is already saying anyway. His predictions for European and Irish history sound pretty ridiculous.

The later modern history one was so horrendous...i cringed...

    Not following him anymore.

For higher level history his predictions for EU and Irish are ridiculous
for ordinary level i believe hes right with the majority of them
as i can see most of them coming up anyway, i predicted the same as he did for (O) history, except for 1 or two things , so i believe hes right or almost right

He was hardly unreal at geography , if I gave a list as long as his for geography i'd be 90% everything would be on it.
    Irish not great.
English anyone in first year could have said Boland.
From what i've seen of economics he basically called out all the guaranteed questions.
The way he starts off video's , ie; reading a book upside down is fairly annoying too.

My Irish teacher predicted the paper exactly, but unlike him doesn't go on youtube doing it. She merely tells us where to put asterisks on our more important pages. I would be far more inclined to listen to specialists in the area.

For history he didn't say anything on hitler's fp which most history teachers tip...

Tbh, I thought all of what he said was a bit.....off...

Alot of what he said was stuff that my history teacher was telling us though, and she is one of the best teachers in the school. I didn't find what he said was bad but maybe I'm wrong.

How many subject does he predict? Ofc he's gonna get some right... Even a stopped clock is right twice a day... :pac:

    Hes an arrogant fool.
He did do 27 subjects though, fair play to him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 245 ✭✭AbsentPonderer

Shur he mentioned nothing about Politics and Administration in the South between 1923 and 45 did he?
And it's Stalin's economy that is widely tipped...
I wouldn't be following him now at all to be honest!
Good luck with the history lads, we'll need it :D

Its just the way he says it that annoys me like. "Okay this is what your gonna get ". The bit where he ignores the camera at the start just makes me feel sorry for him. Also, he should invest in a new couch.

hes gotten me through this leaving with his predictions but do agree that he needs new house decor

His irish was right except he didn't predict Cearrbhach that was it.
Geography he was basically spot on.
He was right for Home ec. aswell I believe.
English paper 2 he said Boland, Dickinson and Theme and Issue.

Seems to me he is getting ALOT right so far.

Maybe you should stop being so cynical? He's out there making predictions and just trying to make it entertaining. What harm is he doing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 243 ✭✭GoldRush4821

Wasn't he practically extorting money out of people for the Later Modern History course. He gives off a very arrogant vibe must be said, holding out on predictions so he can get money

Boland was almost a dead cert to come up. As was Dickinson. Theme and Issue = out of 3, 2 things come up.. He has more chance of being right that wrong!

He predicted them and they came up. I don't see what's wrong?

    Many people predicted them though!

People are just annoyed that they didn't see the geography video before their exam :P
I think if you haven't studied and looking to cram some topics likely to come up his videos are pretty good. Stop hating people, just be thankful someone is there to reassure you on your predictions for example Boland, Dickinson and themes coming up in English.

I liked it, didn't listen to this guy though.

he said northern ireland would come up on topic 3... its been on it for the last 5 years and theres always been a qustion relating to it.

he said britian economics-jarrow march- wrong

Well then many people were right.

No, Jarrow March was on the higher paper - it was under "how did did the following do X... the men who went on the Jarrow March; some other person etc". I can't remember the whole question but they were part of it.

I think must people have heard exactly the same predictions before the exams anyways. As I only have Economics left I'll look at his, but Economics normally isn't a subject that throws many curveballs so it's not the best subject to check if he's great at predictions.

lol, his irish was an EPIC FAIL.

Cearrbhach was the only compulsory story and the only strory on the syllabus he didn't mention.
    got both honours poems wrong
    stair was rubbish too

and all this when nearly the whole country were coming out of the exam delighted because everything they predicted came up

He's been doing not so bad so far, except for Irish ( I don't do it but read previous posts).
He better be right for economics, eventhough pretty much easy to predict.

What's up with the way his videos are? Does he really think he's funny?

He predicted An Bhean Og and Lig Sinn i gCathu. In poetry he predicted Bimse Buan and Gealt. He then predicted Oiche Nollaig and said Dan do Mhelissa. And he admitted that Stair is incredibly difficult to actually predict based on past papers.

So that's 2/3 prose, and 4/5 poems, I think saying EPIC FAIL is a bit much.

When is Eoin releasing his predictions for 2012?
