Recently bought a s2000 which has some major scuffing on the drivers seat, had one of those mobile repair crowd looking at it today and they concluded it would be best to get it reupholstered.

Looking for recommendations in the Munster area (Limerick preferably) and around Dublin/Offaly as I do be there a bit.

    All ideas/recommendations welcome

Nolan Autocare in Dublin may be able to help you out, ask for Derek.

I use them for alot of retrofit leather, their work is top notch.

Although not like new, that looks like it could be repaired no problem with sanding and proper treatment. Ive seen it done in the USA a few times.

I have to get an S-Max over to Derek tomorrow so I've got a copy of the pic on my phone and I'll ask him what he thinks.

    Just the drivers seat?

Cork could be a good idea as I have to pick up a set of alloys down there aswell

There is a fella called Dr Leather based in Limerick we used to use a while back. A quick Google will get you his number. Decent lad and good repairs. :)

Finally sourced someone to do this work for me,highly recommended and relatively cheap.
One issue is though, they said they will have an issue matching the leather. We went through their samples and one or two came close, any ideas on where to source an exact match,we'll need less than a metre for the work.

Maybe they would have something that matches the headlining. It would set the interior off nicely then.

    :p

You could always stain it a bit darker.

Any leather repair supplier will match the colour exactly - either by the leather colour code (give Honda your VIN and they should be able to tell you) or if you send them a small piece (a bit of extra from under the seat) they can match it.

I would have thought it'd be more economical to reupholster that to be honest. The time taken to make it look new would cost more then to get it completely redone.

Is he doing an 'as new' job, or just patching it up? You could patch it up yourself for small money, if that's all you want.

He's gonna replace the worn segment with a new one,I might hold off doing it until I can sort a exact replacment.Where could I go about getting some replacement leather?

Ring Honda and ask for a price on a new seat cover. They will be able to supply the whole cover for the back of the seat.

I got one from seat when a windscreen repair place damaged mine.

Eventually got this done.Honda wanted an absolute absurd amount of money for a replacement bit.It was the same with any leather supplier. In the end,I decided to sacrifice the pockets on the back of the seat and use that vinyl to replace the damaged area.Foam was replaced along the bolsters on the right hand side.Makes a huge difference to the feel and the driving position.

The same guy reupholstered my hardtop and that was an absolute fantastic job aswell. That's the interior sorted,at last! :D

Bottom of the bolster looks a bit wobbly, could they not match the stitching?
Just to add, in some cases the seat faces are leather but the back is vinyl and not as hard wearing.

It looks a lot worse in the photo than it actually is, it's not 100% perfect by any means but I can wait til next year to decide what to do with the 2 seats.
